What is typically Swedish? And where does it belong?

Marika Hedemyr goes on a journey in search of herself back to the time when she was 11, taking part in an international peace camp, dancing traditional Swedish Folk dance. Dressed in a national costume she represents Sweden.

I denna ljuva is about belonging and about trying to identify with Sweden and whatever Sweden represents. However, her image in the rear view mirror doesn’t feel comfortable anymore.

Taking on folk dance, hymns and memories from her own history Marika Hedemyr is searching for the Swedishness. In the clash between then and now dissonance occurs. Her love of folk dance suddenly becomes problematic.

Composer and sound artist Paul Bothén has composed music especially for this piece.
